Ever wanted to be an Alchemist ?
In this introductory workshop you will have the opportunity to learn and experience 16th century alchemy. In the herbal alchemy workshop, you will learn how to make a herbal preparation from dried herbs to produce a herbal elixir that can last for years and will have the imprint of your own energy within it.
The workshop will include making a tincture, using fire to make herbal ash, infusing and heating preparations and discussing the qualities and properties of various herbs. You will leave with your own bottle of alchemic creation and a herbal balm and cream.
This workshop will include:
- History of herbal alchemy
- Properties and uses of herbs
- Preparing an herbal tincture
- How to create herbal ash
- The uses of your herbal elixir
- Filtration and tritation processes
- Care and protection of your herbal mixture
- Picking and drying of herbs
- Communicating with the plant energies
- Making herbal balms and ointments.
This is an introductory workshop into herbal alchemy, combining discussions and practical work with herbs. No experience of herbs or potion making is necessary. Budding alchemists welcome.
